When working with complex cases or in time limited settings, EMDR therapists can find formulation/case conceptualisation, treatment planning, target sequencing and managing client expectations challenging.

This workshop will focus on case formulation, using the EMDR case formulation tool with simple and complex cases. The formulation tool will be explored, and various factors considered, as a basis for collaborative EMDR treatment planning and target selection, within both a symptom-focused and a comprehensive treatment plan.

Additionally, we will explore how this formulation tool can provide a useful format for when discussing cases in supervision / with supervisees.

This workshop will provide an opportunity to enhance confidence when using the case formulation tool and include practice exercises in pairs and small groups.

Fee, including refreshments and a light lunch:

Members £75 and Non-members of EMDR Association UK: £90

Please note that this event will not be recorded.

Our annual AGM will be held for 30 minutes during the lunch break at this event.  Anyone who would like to attend this AGM is most welcome to do so.

The term of office for EMDR Association Regional Group Committee Members is two years, with a staggered approach so that some new members are elected every year and members who wish to be re-elected go forward again after their period of office of two years.  Our Committee currently comprises a Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, our Website Expert and two other Committee Members who help out in various ways.

Of particular importance for our November 2022 AGM:

  • Deborah Fish will be standing down as the Chairperson, so there will be a vacancy for this role that needs to be filled.
  • We are also keen to have more members join our Committee to help with CPD event organisation, in particular.

If you might be interested in contributing to the EMDR South Central Committee in one of these roles, and have any questions prior to the AGM, please do not hesitate to contact us.
